Hibiscus Sorbet (vegan)

This delightful hibiscus sorbet will steal anyone's heart. Vegan + homemade goodness makes for a truly healthy alternative to conventionally made sweets. Give it a whirl!

INGREDIENTS

For the tea:

  • 1/4 C hibiscus tea
  • 2 C water
  • 3 Tbsp lime juice

For the syrup:

  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 C water

INSTRUCTIONS

Things to do the day before:

  1. In a glass bowl, mix hibiscus tea, two cups water and lime juice. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight.
  2. In a small saucepan, mix sugar and water over medium heat. Let simmer for about 5 minutes, remove from heat, cover and place in refrigerator overnight.

Day of:

  1. Grab the hibiscus/water/lime mixture out of the fridge and strain into medium bowl; then mix in 1 C of the simple syrup that you have had chilling in the fridge.
  2. Add this mixture to your ice cream maker and follow your ice cream maker instructions to finish the sorbet
